Suspension problems can be a huge pain because they make driving your car difficult. They also make the ride uncomfortable for your passengers. We will talk about all of this below. Suffice it to say, if you are having any of the problems listed below, call our shop to set up a service appointment. We can repair your suspension and restore your comfort.
Uncomfortable Ride
Specifically, it is the struts and shocks that make it comfortable to drive and ride in your automobile. These suspension parts are filled with fluid that is designed to help them absorb the bumps in the road. If your vehicle’s ride is extremely bouncy, it’s time to replace the struts and shocks.
Lunging/Leaning
If your vehicle lunges, leans, or tilts depending on your driving action, this, too, is a sign that the struts and shocks have worn out. Normally, the struts and shocks will prevent your vehicle from leaning backward when you accelerate. This is just one example of the momentum motion that the struts and shocks prevent when they are in excellent shape.
Leaking Struts/Shocks
If you suspect that your struts and/or shocks are going bad, you can always check them to see if they are leaking. Just reach up behind the wheel and touch the suspension part. If it feels greasy or oily, it’s probable that it is leaking its internal fluid due to a broken seal.
Steering Difficulties
Another sign that your car has suspension problems is difficulty steering the vehicle. This can be an indication that one of the axles is cracked. It is also an indication of a problem with the steering system. It can be dangerous to drive your vehicle if you are having problems steering it.
Veering to the Side
Another thing that makes it difficult to control your automobile is if it veers to the side constantly. This is an indication that you need to have the wheels realigned. Unfortunately, they have been knocked out of alignment or have become misaligned naturally.
Low-Sitting Corner
Finally, your automobile should sit level on all four tires. If it sits lower on one of the tires, the leaf spring on that wheel is broken. In addition to sitting low, the wheel will also clunk whenever you go over a bump. In fact, a loud clunk is a sign that the suspension spring broke.
As we mentioned above, we can service or repair your suspension. Call us today to schedule an appointment.
