Many people view their car as simply a means of transportation – a way to get from Point A to Point B. However, your car is actually a complex machine that requires routine maintenance in order to function properly. Just as you would not expect a computer to work without regular updates and tune-ups, your car needs the same level of care. In this blog post, we’ll be talking about two important aspects of auto maintenance: fluids and filters.
Fluids
Your car has a lot of different fluids that keep it running smoothly. These fluids need to be checked regularly and replaced when necessary. The most common fluids that need to be maintained are oil, coolant, and brake fluid.
Oil is the lifeblood of your car’s engine and it needs to be changed every 5,000 miles or so. Coolant helps keep your engine from overheating and should be flushed and replaced every 30,000 miles. Brake fluid ensures that your brakes are working properly and should be flushed every 50,000 miles.
Filters
Just like your furnace has an air filter, your car has several filters as well – oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, etc. These filters need to be replaced regularly in order to keep your car running efficiently. Depending on your make and model, most filters will need to be replaced every 15-30,000 miles.
Regular maintenance is crucial for keeping your car in good condition and ensuring that it runs properly for many years to come. By staying on top of things like fluid changes and filter replacements, you can avoid bigger (and more expensive) problems down the road.
